Dear Potential New Members,
I am so grateful to be serving as Alpha’s 2024-2025 Recruitment Chair. Growing up with a family of only sisters, I was eager to find an equally uplifting and empowering community at the University of Washington. However, Chi Omega has provided me and our members with a community of women who encourage and support each other, something deeply important to me. My sisters and I are looking forward to recruitment in September and getting to know all of you.
Recruitment can be a stressful process, especially while transitioning into college. You may be overwhelmed by the recruitment process. However, I want you to know that at Chi Omega, we want you to be yourself. The members of Alpha all bring something different to the sisterhood, but together we make up a genuine, caring, and loving sisterhood.
As members of Chi Omega, we strive to live out our six purposes: friendship, personal integrity, service to others, academic excellence, community and campus involvement, and career development. The women in this chapter have pushed me to achieve things I never thought I could. Being a member of Chi Omega has brought me my best friends, who have led me to be the better version of myself and truly grow while in college. The women in this house will always be there for you, whether it be studying for exams or watching our favorite shows, they will always have your back.
Whether you feel excited, nervous, or both for the recruitment process, I want you to know what Chi Omega has to offer. When I was a freshman going through recruitment two years ago, I had no idea what the process was like, and I was scared for the next chapter of my life. However, when I came to Chi Omega I felt comfortable there, because of the genuine women I met during recruitment at Chi Omega. When I moved in on Bid Day, I was excited for the next chapter of my life and to meet the women I now call my best friends.
If you are interested in learning more about Chi Omega’s sisterhood, please check out the rest of our website, our Instagram @uwchiomega and our TikTok @uwchiomega. I am so excited for you to see what Greek life has to offer and why we love Chi Omega. I know you all will find a chapter at the University of Washington that makes you as happy as Chi Omega makes me. I look forward to meeting you all in the fall!

Formal Fall Recruitment takes place each year in September and is the most common recruitment process that members participate in. It's an incredibly fun week full of events where the chapters are able to really get to know the PNMs, show them our home, and share our beloved philanthropy. At the end of the week, we welcome our new members home on one of the most exciting days of the year, Bid Day!
For the most up-to-date information regarding Formal Fall Recruitment 2024, please visit the University of Washington Panhellenic website. We can't wait to meet you!
Continuous Open Bidding, also referred to as COB, is the informal recruitment process. Once Formal Fall Recruitment is over, some chapters will begin COB and it can continue until the end of Spring quarter. It's a great opportunity for girls to still join the Greek community that either weren't able to attend Formal Fall or transferred to the University of Washington.
