It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship -- striving to provide each sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities, and social enrichment. Chi Omega is the largest women's fraternal organization, with over 411,000 initiates, 181 collegiate chapters, and over 240 alumnae chapters. Throughout Chi Omega's long and proud history, the Fraternity has brought its members equaled opportunities for personal growth and development.
In 1909, The Alpha Chapter of Chi Omega was established at the beautiful University of Washington in Seattle. Ever since, we strive to live out Chi Omega's six purposes each and every day -- friendship, high standards of personnel, sincere learning and creditable scholarship, participation in campus activities, career development, and community service.
Welcome to the website of Chi Omega Alpha Chapter! We are so glad you are here! My name is Niki Bolla and I am currently serving as president of our chapter for the 2024-2025 school year.
Joining Chi Omega has truly made such a positive impact on my college experience. Coming to Washington from Texas was a far move and I wanted to find a community that would make the transition easier. Not only did Chi Omega give me that community but it gave me something even better, a family. Each day is filled with a new adventure from swimming in the cut, trying out a new restaurant, to the regular coffee walk or grocery run. No matter the occasion there are always friends coming along for the ride which turns the smallest moment into timeless memories each day.
College can be a daunting and scary transition in life, but with the right people it becomes a journey. Here at Alpha, we strive to cultivate not just a sorority but a great support system with women who are independent, passionate, confident, compassionate, and so much more. Our members carry each other through the lows and are the first to celebrate any accomplishments. Each woman in this chapter brings something unique to the table, making for multiple different friendships that won’t just stop at graduation but will last a lifetime.
It is truly an honor that I get to lead these women. I am in awe of them every day and they motivate me to become better not only for this chapter but for myself.
I hope you’ve been able to receive a glimpse of our beautiful sisterhood. There’s so much more that can’t be put into words or pictures.
Kindly,
Niki Bolla
