Scholarship at Alpha

The Alpha Chapter of Chi Omega is ever committed to our 6 purposes, especially Sincere Learning and Credible Scholarship. This purpose is demonstrated through our Active Member scholarship program and our New Member scholarship program. Our sisters are devoted to keeping each other accountable through all house study hours, the quarterly study slam, and informal study leaders. Chi Omega is unique as a national sorority since we are the only chapter to initiate our new members after receiving first quarter's grades. We strive to dedicate the four years at the University of Washington as Chi Omega women to academics, scholarship, and preparing for the future. We are here to learn first before anything else, and we are reminded of that through Chi Omega.

Chi Omegas value all types of learning experiences. We have found that internships are one of the best ways to enrich our education and to create valuable relationships with professionals. Being in the amazing city of Seattle, our sisters have received internship opportunities at some of the most competitive and exciting companies: Amazon, Boeing, Concur Technologies, GoDaddy, Goldman Sachs, Harborview Medical Center, Microsoft, Zumiez, and so much more!

Scholarship Dinner

Here at Alpha, we host a quarterly scholarship dinner to recognize those sisters who received a 3.5 or higher quarterly GPA, those who were admitted to their major, and those who are worthy of recognition for outstanding scholastic achievements.

Chi Os Abroad

Studying abroad and immersing ourselves into another culture is something we value as Chi Omegas. We believe that being able to receive an enriched education while also being able to experience and learn the values of another culture helps to broaden us not only as students, but also as people. Alphas are studying all across the world in the most unique, exciting countries each quarter.

Studying abroad is a life-changing experience that we encourage all of our sisters to take part in if they so choose. It's not difficult to find a Chi O or two studying away in France, Italy, Spain, Ireland, New Zealand, Tasmania, Argentina, China, Thailand and more.
